Chikada Wasei (近田 和生), or JJ, born October 20, 1967, is a DJ, composer, and voice actor from Okinawa, Japan. He performed several songs for the Serial Experiments Lain soundtrack, and gave his voice for the part of JJ in the anime.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for the franchise, he released in 2018 and 2019 respectively, two "sequels" to the Serial Experiments Lain soundtrack, Serial Experiments Lain: Cyberia Mix.

Since February 2021, he hosts a weekly livestream on Youtube called Club Cyberia Wired. It's a music streaming shows inspired by Serial Experiments Lain where he sometimes receives previous staffers from the show.


Chikadi Wasei was born on October 20, 1967 in Uruma a city located in the Okinawa prefecture in Japan. He studied in the Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music.

Becoming a leading DJ in Japan, he performed on some of the country’s most popular stages, including Fuji Rock Festival and worked for renowned hotels, restaurants or fashion brands. He is a member of the Club and Club Culture Conference (CCCC), which fought for Japan’s club culture and which persuaded the institutions to change a law which prohibited clubs in Japan to open all night.

Chikadi Wasei also has a strong presence on Youtube, uploading regularly live DJ performances.
